The practice must be relevant
The artist should engage materially or conceptually with questions that deepen understanding of responsible artistic practice.
Claims must be supportable
Specific decisions, methods and limitations are more useful than broad claims. Perfection is neither expected nor implied.
The feature must add knowledge
Selection considers what readers can learn from the practice, including uncertainty, trade-offs and continued development.

One artist examined in depth in every newsletter.
Spotlights will favour substance over promotion, drawing attention to the art itself and the decisions behind it.
